BCTI, established in May 1983, initially focused on providing computer training, specializing in word processing and spreadsheet seminars. Over the subsequent seven years, the company broadened its client base to include programmers who crafted bespoke software solutions for diverse applications such as inventory management and employee attendance tracking. In 1990, co-founders Dr. Gene Bailey and J. Chase Boles inaugurated the first standalone office on Knob Creek Road, marking the beginning of an expansion into network consulting, configuration, and support services. This growth necessitated a move to larger premises on Oakland Avenue in 1992. During this period, Mr. Boles achieved the distinction of becoming one of the area's first Novell Certified NetWare Engineers, enabling BCTI to install networks across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
The company continued to evolve, expanding its Oakland Avenue facilities in 1995. A year later, Mr. Boles acquired Dr. Bailey's stake, further steering the company's growth. By 1999, BCTI had relocated to a 10,000 square foot facility in Boones Creek, reflecting its increased offerings in classes and networking services. In January 2013, BCTI transitioned to its own premises on Bobby Hicks Highway in Gray. Today, BCTI provides a comprehensive suite of services, including Backup & Recovery, Cybersecurity, Data Storage, Managed IT, and Networking & Wi-Fi, serving clients throughout Tennessee and the United States.
